Below is a sample conversation from Tinder. It’s made up of about 5 screenshots from my phone that I blew up here. Despite it looking a little rough, the entire conversation is here in proper order. For privacy I’ve blanked out phone numbers and my name. Commentary follows after.
Right from the opener, the conversation and banter flowed here. There wasn’t really any text game required, we were responding within 20 min of each other. When she doesn’t reply to my last text on the day we started chatting because she went to sleep, she apologizes the next morning and writes a long investment text about her hobbies. I know the time is right, and I immediately ask her out. She responds back with her availability. Her last reply was on Aug 18. If you look at the time stamps, I don’t reply back till Aug 26, eight days later. This was not some fancy game move on my part. I should have texted back my number, pushed for a phone call within a day or two, and then talked on the phone to setup a date. However I had travelled out of town soon after, and was gone for the better part of a week. I didn’t text her to setup a date during that period because I wasn’t sure when I’d be back, and more importantly I was too busy talking to other girls and enjoying life. It was only when I came back to Vegas that I began thinking about her again. I wanted to restart the conversation. I needed to spark her interest again, and writing something low in fun like “how’s it going?”, wouldn’t make her curious about me. So instead I wrote about a power outage that had happened at our house the previous night. I used the words “crazy”, “fun”, and “lol” to describe it. I wanted her to associate those words with me, and the best way was to use them. Initially she’s blowing me off a little, writing short replies, or letting me know she’s working out instead of chatting. However she forgets to write back to me and a day goes by. She remembers this, and apologizes in her reply. Following text game rules, I wait an equal amount of time before replying. When I reply, I give an excuse on the same level as her one. She’s fine with it, and writes back a long investment reply, wanting to get back to chatting with me. Now I do what I should have done before and send out the phone number. We had about a 45 min phone conversation and made plans to meet. Again we had a several hour date and went back to her place. The next page discusses what to do on a first date.
